Where it started
Everything Adrian Campbell has built in Asia was learned first in Australia. He grew up in Shepparton, an orchard town in the Goulburn Valley of northern Victoria, trained as a plumber, and in 2008 started a rooftop solar company on the Gold Coast at 19, as Queensland's Solar Bonus Scheme set off the Australian solar boom. International Solar Solutions grew to 40 people and more than 300 installed systems before it closed, a story he tells in full himself on the record.

What he still does here
He holds four Australian roles today. He is Managing Director of Prestige Pinnacle Realty, a prestige residential agency that runs exclusive sales campaigns and trains agents. He is a Director of Earthcon Civil, which does bulk earthworks and house site cuts for new developments. He is Managing Partner of First Nations Mining Australia, a majority First Nations-owned exploration company working with the Yindjibarndi people in the Pilbara. And he is Managing Director of Australasia Marketing, through which he has managed Southeast Asian property and holiday rentals from an Australian base since 2017.
Qualifications
He studied as he went. He holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning, a Diploma of Financial Planning, a Diploma of Credit Management and a Certificate IV in Credit Management from Mentor Education, and a Diploma of Property and real estate licences from Connect Skills Institute. The financial planning and credit qualifications came out of the years when he was raising capital and running sales teams; the property qualifications underpin the agency work and, later, Kinnara.
What Australia taught him
The Gold Coast taught him to sell, to hire and to fail in public. Two of the companies he started there ended in court, and the rules he runs every company by, two signatories on every account, lawyers before money, never own what you cannot supervise, were all written on the Gold Coast between 2014 and 2018. They are collected on how he runs companies.
Why it matters to the work in Lombok
Most of the Australians buying property in Indonesia through Kinnara are looking at a place they have holidayed in and a market they do not know. Adrian has stood on both sides of that: an Australian who had to learn how land, titles and contracts work in Indonesia the hard way. The Lombok guide for Australians and the glossary are written from that experience, for exactly those buyers.
